Established in its current location in the heart of Fishguard village since 2021, Fishguard Artisans collective gathers together artists, crafters and producers from Fishguard, Goodwick and the surrounding areas, showcasing the impressive range and depth of creativity in the region. Located at 36 West Street, Fishguard Artisans is open five days per week, and offers visitors and locals an insight into the diversity of work produced by members of the collective. Items for perusal (and for sale) range from graphic art, photographs, hand-crafted knitwear, jewellery, woven baskets, wall hangings, stained glass, sculptures and much more.

Fishguard Artisans collective was born out of a desire to rebuild community amongst local creative practitioners in the aftermath of the Covid19 pandemic. Having suffered the loss of the craft circuit, and the attached sense of comradery and support, a small group of local artists decided to form the collective. It has since grown to a current number of 17 artists, all based in Pembrokeshire. The premises at West Street showcases a rotating selection of work by members of the collective, and features special exhibits responding to the seasons and festive occasion throughout the year.

In addition to an extensive selection of local artisans’ work to browse and to purchase, Fishguard Artisans collective also hosts occasional workshops run by the artists themselves. These small group events offer the opportunity to local people and visitors to try their hand at various crafts, including spinning, weaving, printmaking and other methods, and to produce an item to bring home! These workshops aim to keep traditional crafts alive and to bring new techniques into wider circulation. O’u lleoliad presennol yng nghanol pentref Abergwaun ers 2021, mae cydweithfa Crefftwyr Abergwaun yn casglu ynghyd artistiaid, crefftwyr a chynhyrchwyr o Abergwaun, Wdig a'r ardaloedd cyfagos, gan arddangos amrediad a dyfnder trawiadol y creadigrwydd yn yr ardal. Mae cydweithfa Crefftwyr Abergwaun, yn 36 y Wesh yn agored bum niwrnod yr wythnos, ac mae'n cynnig cipolwg i ymwelwyr a phobl leol ar amrywiaeth y gwaith a gynhyrchir gan aelodau'r grŵp. Mae’r eitemau sydd i’w gweld (ac i'w prynu) yn amrywio o gelf graffig, ffotograffau, dillad wedi’u gwau â llaw, gemwaith, basgedi wedi’u gwehyddu, croglenni wal, gwydr lliw, cerfluniau a llawer mwy.

Cododd cydweithfa Crefftwyr Abergwaun yn sgil awydd i ailadeiladu cymuned ymhlith ymarferwyr creadigol lleol yn sgil pandemig Covid19. Ar ôl colli’r gylchdaith grefftau, a'i hymdeimlad o gyfeillgarwch a chefnogaeth, penderfynodd grŵp bach o artistiaid lleol ffurfio'r grŵp. Ers hynny mae wedi tyfu i’w nifer presennol o 17 o artistiaid, bob un wedi'i leoli yn Sir Benfro. Mae'r adeilad yn y Wesh yn dangos detholiad o waith aelodau'r grŵp, pawb yn ei dro, ac mae'n cynnwys arddangosion arbennig sy'n ymateb i'r tymhorau a'r gwyliau drwy gydol y flwyddyn.

Ar ben y detholiad helaeth o waith crefftwyr lleol i’w bori ac i’w brynu, mae cydweithfa Crefftwyr Abergwaun hefyd yn cynnal gweithdai achlysurol a gynhelir gan yr artistiaid eu hunain. Mae'r digwyddiadau grŵp bach hyn yn cynnig cyfle i bobl leol ac ymwelwyr roi cynnig ar grefftau amrywiol, gan gynnwys nyddu, gwehyddu, gwneud printiau a dulliau eraill, ac i lunio eitem i fynd â hi adre! Nod y gweithdai yw cadw crefftau traddodiadol yn fyw a dod â thechnegau newydd i gylchrediad ehangach.
